- What is Alderox® ASA-12® Mining?
- Alderox® ASA-12® is a non-stick release agent that is 100% environmentally friendly. It is used in the asphalt, concrete, and mining industry. In Mining, it eliminates deadbed (a.k.a. carry-back) from occurring.
- What is deadbed (a.k.a. carry-back)?
- Deadbed is unwanted ore accumulation in production equipment that inhibits equipment from performing at full capacity. Deadbed robs mining equipment of full payload potential. For example, a 240 ton truck with deadbed will only dump 230 tons per cycle as opposed to 240 tons per cycle. Overtime, this lost tonnage can be very costly!
- Where can Alderox® ASA-12® Mining be used?
- It is used mostly in haul truck beds to eliminate deadbed from building up and hence, increase productivity. Other applications include but are not limited to vehicle undercarriages, chutes, loading pockets, skips, conveyor belts, loader buckets, etc.
- What surfaces will Alderox® ASA-12® work on?
- Metal, Wood, Rubber
- What productivity increases have been experienced at mines?
- Productivity increases of up to 20% have been experienced. It all depends on the amount of deadbed that the mine equipment has built up without using Alderox®.
- What is the freezing temperature for Alderox®?
- Alderox® will freeze at -20c but will thicken at 0c. If your mine experiences occasional temperatures below 0c, we would need to design special applicator systems. See question below.
- Will Alderox® work in cold temperatures?
- Yes, as long as the product is sprayed warm, it will work on cold surfaces. Alderox Inc. design and fabricates applicator systems that will accommodate the cold (up to -40c!) with heated pipes, re-circulating pumps, coils in container, etc.
- How should we evaluate the cost of Alderox® against other release agents?
- Evaluate your cost per ton of material, as opposed to cost per gal of product. Also, evaluate what benefits you will gain in production from using Alderox® versus the cost of the product. Alderox Inc. can provide payback calculations for interested parties.
- How much product is needed for a given surface area?
- 1 gal of Alderox® will cover approximately 1000 sq.ft.
- Can Alderox® be diluted?
- No. Alderox® contains a soybean oil base and therefore, does not need to be diluted. Since Alderox® is not water or ethanol based as other release agents are, there is no evaporation.
- What are the ingredients of Alderox®
- The Alderox® line of products hold an international patent with confidential ingredients. We can disclose that it contains a soybean oil base.
- Will Alderox® affect my downstream processing circuit?
- To date, all the mines that we have online do not experience any problems with their process (recovery, grade, precipitation size, etc.). We do, however, offer the option of releasing our ingredients to the Chief Engineer of a Processing Plant/Mill following the signing of a Nondisclosure Agreement (NDA).
- Does Alderox® contain any carcinogens or reproductive hazards?
- No. Alderox® follows a strict environmental guideline. Click here for more information.
- Has there been any lab tests performed on Alderox®?
- Yes. Alderox® has been tested against diesel oil with and without a soil base. Click here for our product information downloads.
